Dear Church Planters,

I want to take a moment to encourage you on your journey as you labor in real time to unfold God’s will in the city you’ve been called to serve. Every step you take is not only a testimony of faith but also a unique contribution to the tapestry of God’s kingdom. I’d like to share three key thoughts to uplift and guide you:

1. Recognize Your Uniqueness

Remember, you are not here to replicate what has come before. The history of an area does not determine its future—the chemistry you bring does. God has called you to stand out, to be distinct, and to infuse the place with His transformative love in a way only you can. Embrace your unique gifts and perspective. Your differences are not shortcomings; they are divine tools crafted for a specific purpose in this community.

2. Slow Down—It’s Cool, and You’ll Get There

In today’s fast-paced, digitally-driven world, it’s tempting to mimic what you see online or to chase after quick numerical wins. But remember, church planting isn’t about instant gratification. True spiritual growth takes time, patience, and the courage to let things develop organically. Instead of trying to be BIG from the start, focus on nurturing a deep, meaningful community of believers. By stepping away from the noise of the internet and the comparisons with more established churches, you allow the process of maturation to take its course. Trust in God’s timing and know that every step, no matter how small, is significant.

3. You’re Only Called to Those That Hear You

It’s important to realize that your ministry isn’t meant for everyone in the city. Just as Lazarus was the only one who heard Christ’s call to rise from the tomb amid a crowd that remained silent, your calling is to reach those whose hearts are open to His message through you and the work you're sent to plant. This isn’t about expanding numbers for the sake of numbers—it’s about planting a community where genuine transformation can occur. Focus on those who truly resonate with the message you bring, and watch how God works mightily through that focused, faithful group.
